To start off, here’s the quick point: I’m not going to make Valve TAS anymore.

-Long version-

Not an easy decision to make, but I feel it was the right one. Let me explain, I was 14, I wasn’t funny (I still don’t think I am) and I just wanted to make an animation for the sake of making an animation, but what to make it about? During this time I had signed up for the Steam Forums and wanted to gel with the HL2:EP2 community because I really liked the game. I thought it would be really cool to make a cartoon that was based off real events and forum happenings at the time. That’s what I wanted, not what I created. It was slapped together in a month, and then I created an even more slapped together episode the next month. At first I felt really good I was getting lots of views and comments, so naturally I wanted to make a 3rd one. Then something really awful happened in my family, that kinda set me back a couple months, so I came back to it after that, and was frustrated because when I sat down to write, I was writing for a show that had no writing! I would get an idea, record it, and then bob the heads. So I didn’t know where to go, and I just kept putting it off, over and over and over again. I came to points where I was like “I’m going to make it, this is the time!” and I would announce it or make a poster and get really excited and then look it over and trash all of it. So now, I’m calling it done. I always knew I would reach this point in the back of my head, so there will not be an Episode Three, and as I type this I realize one of my true fears coming true, looking like a failure. But I suppose with every failure comes a lesson, I suppose this one is “put actual effort and creativity into your work” and “don’t make something just to make it” So there you go. Make all the jokes and point out similarities to the whole Half-Life 2: EP3 situation.

This isn’t really the end of anything, I’m still gonna be making toons, and making the LambdaGen Xmas specials. (If they will let me)

And who knows? I might poke fun at Valve again, but it will be different.

Also, I just want to say I am so grateful for all the friends I made along the way, the original EP2 Spuf crew, the Steamcast guys, and last but not least, the awesome people at LambdaGen. Thank you for putting up with me.

So that is that. Thanks for reading this if you have, I know I’m not the best at writing big long text things, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

I created this after hearing the news of Edd Gould, the creator of Eddsworld, passed away. He was one of the reasons I began animating in Flash, and it’s sad to see about his passing.

I miss him.
